Sometimes, less is more, and in the case of gadgets, that means transparent designs. For example, the “Water Watch” above was designed to look like it was crafted from a single block of ice. Unfortunately, it doesn’t pack all the features you’d expect from a modern digital watch.

As you’ll see in the gallery below, the mod also has built-in controller ports. There are heatsinks and a fan inside to keep things cool. The 4.3″ screen has both 16:9 and 4:3 modes, but it also has video and audio out ports if you want to play on a bigger screen.

Set for release on November 13th, is Nintendo’s long-awaited Super Mario 3D Land for the 3DS. This game “might best be described as a hybrid of New Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Galaxy; while you have freedom to move around in 3-D space, the levels are laid out in a linear fashion and you often view the action from the side.” Product page. While some levels take a more non-linear approach and play with the camera angles, this happens gradually as you play through the game; clearly, Nintendo is trying to ease the casual players into the more complicated gameplay styles.
