OS X Lion Ultimatum has hit iOS devices, but unfortunately, this version is just “a theme, but it goes beyond skins and icons — it has a working Menu Bar, working Finder windows with the ability to drag windows and have multiple windows open [and] a scrollable dock.”

…the Dashboard and its widgets (which ironically are really only useful in a portable device like the iPhone and iPod Touch), a lock screen with phone, mail and SMS notifications and more.

Fake Apple Store in China Fools Own Employees

What if you thought you worked for Apple, but you really didn’t? That’s exactly what the staff at this fake Apple store in the southwestern Chinese city of Kunming believe. I mean who wouldn’t? They’ve reproduced all the branding elements, signage and even those signature Apple employee t-shirts! I’m actually impressed to say the least, at the level of copycat detail. Now the question is how long it’ll take before the real Apple to shuts them down.

Apple WWDC iCloud Announced

Today at WWDC, Apple announced iCloud, which is essentially a backup / syncing service for all your apps, documents, music, and other media. All users will get 5GB of free storage, boasts iWork / third party API (Evernote, etc.) compatibility, and automated daily backups. iPhone 4 S, iPhone 5 Pictures Surface

According to MIC Gadget, these photos purportedly show the next iPhone, though there’s still no word yet on if it will be called the iPhone 4 S or iPhone 5. On the other hand, this could also be an iPhone 4 test unit equipped with the A5 processor, sent to select developers last week. Continue reading for one more picture.

Man, we don’t know if this is real, but at least we can see that it has a larger display and edge-to-edge glass. Maybe it’s a mockup, but we are sure that it’s not an iPhone 4.

A sneak peek at the next version of Android Market and Music app

In what is probably a bit of a big-G whoopsie, the folks at Tech From 10 woke up to find a new, test version of Android Market installed on their Galaxy S.

Visually, the new version is almost identical. The carousel of featured apps has been updated slightly, and apps now have a ‘Content rating,’ but that’s it (image after the break). The interesting bit, however, is the inclusion of alpha and beta apps — most notably, there’s a new version of the Music app, which looks like a scaled-down version of the Android 3.0 Honeycomb Music app (see right).

Also available from the test Android Market is ‘Google Gallery 3D New 10.2′, ‘Google – Camera v12′ and ‘Google Desk Clock 10′ — but, curiously, all of the apps refused to launch on Tech From 10’s Galaxy S (Vibrant) smartphone. Are they Honeycomb apps? Or, more likely, are they destined for the next Android smartphone OS, Ice Cream?

Geek Uses iPhone to Hack Times Square Billboards

According to YouTube user “BITcrash44″, he managed to hack billboard in Times Square by plugging a transmitter into an iPhone 4, playing back a video clip, and then have that footage sent to a video repeater that overrides any screen. Continue reading for the video demonstration.

Starting off small, he exhibits how the device works on various video billboards on the ground and ultimately leads to a big finale. I’m not going to spoil the ending, but will say it involves a balloon and the giant CNN billboard in the middle of Times Square!
