Verizon re-named this device when it modified its looks, but it’s really a version of the HTC Hero. As such, it has a tablet shape with a 3.2-inch, HVGA, capacitive touchscreen and no hardware keyboard.

The Droid Eris is able to connect to Verizon’s EV-DO mobile broadband service, and also offers Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

It debuted with Google’s Android OS version 1.5, not latest 2.0 version. The standard user interface has been replaced with HTC Sense, but the Google applications are still included, and users of this smartphone have access to the 12,000+ apps currently on the Android Market, the on-device software store.

The Droid Eris is able to get e-mail and synchronize user data with Google service, as well as Microsoft Exchange.

Other features will include a 5-MPx camera, 3.5 mm headset jack, microSD card slot, and a GPS receiver.

  1. Does anybody know which type of video files are supported? I bear in mind the Intuition only could dl 3gp utilizing opera mini. I downloaded the twist ap, perhaps that’s the issue? How can I watch movies from sites other than youtube? Which file types? Often I’m given the choice of 3gp or mpeg4. Cannot get both to work. Thanks in your time!
