CECT, a China-based manufacturer, proposed its latest creation, the CECT K898 cell phone. This handset comes with a sliding form factor and sports a nice rotateable camera module. There?s also a secondary VGA camera for video telephony purpose (yes, it supports 3G connectivity).

The third alpha release of Ubuntu 7.10 is ready and available for download. The new version includes the super rap Compiz Fusion 3d desktop, which should make the Gutsy Gibbon rather attractive indeed. A whole slew of other improvements come along for the ride as well.

Opera has released version 9.22 of the Opera browser for Mac, Linux, and Windows. Opera 9.22 features several security enhancements:

Mozilla Corporation has just updated Firefox to the awkwardly numbered version 2.0.0.5. Eight flaws are fixed in this release - three of which are marked as critical.
